1. Introduction

POM (polyoxymethylene), a thermoplastic crystalline polymer. Known as "super steel" or "sail steel." It is an engineering plastic with excellent comprehensive properties after polyamide. It has high mechanical properties such as strength, modulus, wear resistance, toughness, fatigue resistance and creep resistance, and also has excellent electrical insulation. Solvent resistance and processability are among the five general engineering plastics.

The basic procedure for the production of polyoxymethylene (POM) is the polymerization of trioxane and dioxolane under the action of a boron trifluoride catalyst. After polymerization, the acidic catalyst must be deactivated and stabilized by melting or solution hydrolysis to remove labile end groups.

The core advantage of Wanfan Chemical's POM process is the use of a mature and reliable solution hydrolysis process (SH) process, which greatly reduces the occurrence of POM thermal degradation reaction and improves the thermal stability of POM. It can produce more than 165 grades of POM products. . The gist of this technique is that the initial polyoxymethylene is dissolved in a high pressure hydrolysis vessel and then sent to a precipitation tank. The solution in the hydrolysis tank is sprayed into a sedimentation tank based on a high shear mixer through a special nozzle of Wanfan Chemical. This process will atomize the copolymer to remove non-volatile impurities. The flakes formed in the sedimentation tank are then withdrawn, centrifuged, and dried to obtain the product POM.
